Compassion at a time of need

I am a combat veteran with over 26yrs of honorable military service. I fell ill one day with a condition that caught me by complete surprise. I learned that I was lucky to have survived the initial onset of the condition. As a result of that condition, I found that I was no longer able to work or sustain my normal way of life. Furthermore, my initial medical condition was exacerbated by numerous other medical conditions that cause a severe hardship. As a result I learned I had all of the gulf war illness conditions. All of these conditions not only prevented me from maintaining my normal source of employment but also cause serious financial hardship. I had to fight the VA for years for benefits. Then came my fight with the Social Security Admin. Judge Ballieu had a thorough understanding of my case as well as the rule of law. He was thorough in his examination of the evidence and the application hypothetical scenarios. And he was compassionate and understanding in my plight in dealing with my new “normal” way of life.
