I am writing to formally file a complaint against Rebecca Sartor, an Administrative Law Judge who presided over my Social Security Disability appeal hearing. I believe this judge demonstrated clear bias and discrimination against me as a combat veteran with a doctorate degree, prioritizing her apparent prejudice over a fair and impartial review of my physical disabilities.Show more
During my hearing, it became evident that Judge Sartor was more focused on my level of education than on the severity of my service-connected disabilities. She repeatedly questioned the legitimacy of my claims not based on medical evidence, but rather on my academic achievements—as if having a doctorate somehow negates the physical and mental toll of combat service. Instead of evaluating my medical records and the impact of my disabilities, she displayed a dismissive attitude toward my condition and seemed to imply that my education should disqualify me from receiving benefits, despite overwhelming evidence proving otherwise.
Her approach was not only inappropriate but also highly discriminatory against veterans who pursue higher education. Veterans who have sacrificed for this country should not be penalized or treated with skepticism simply because they have chosen to further their education. Disabilities do not disappear because someone holds a degree.
I respectfully request that this matter be investigated, as her conduct violates the principles of fairness and impartiality required of an Administrative Law Judge. Her clear bias against combat veterans with advanced education undermines the integrity of the disability review process and discourages other veterans from seeking the benefits they rightfully deserve.
